Con el objetivo de mejorar la calidad de los servicios públicos de telecomunicaciones, el Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones (MTC), publicó la propuesta normativa que incorpora los lineamientos para el desarrollo de nuevos servicios y tecnologías digitales como el 5G. Además, contempla la protección de los datos personales de los usuarios y fomenta el despliegue de infraestructura de última generación (celdas pequeñas, postes inteligentes u otras), que permitirá ofrecer servicios con mayor ancho de banda y mínima demora en las comunicaciones. “Promovemos la expansión de los servicios con mejor calidad y la instalación de nueva infraestructura de forma amigable con el ambiente”, adelantó el director general de Políticas y Regulación en Comunicaciones, José Aguilar. Además, la iniciativa indica que el MTC establecerá mecanismos de seguridad que deberán cumplir los proveedores y operadores que desplieguen su red de telecomunicaciones en territorio peruano, con el fin de salvaguardar los datos personales de los ciudadanos. “Para mejorar la cobertura actual de los servicios de comunicaciones se propone impulsar la compartición de las bases activas de red (antenas y equipos) entre varios operadores, lo cual impacta de forma positiva en el entorno paisajístico”, resaltó Aguilar.
